FISH HEALTH
Fish health and welfare may be the least understood and most difficult to assess research challenges. Assessing water quality is relatively simple in comparison, but water quality alone isn’t a measure of fish health.
Bringing experts and those with local and indigenous knowledge together is the first step to developing an understanding of issues impacting fish. Anglers also play a key role in gathering data and reporting key observations.
Blue Fish Canada participates in the great lakes fish health network, The St Lawrence river fish health sub committee, and many more networks and associations dedicated to protecting, and promoting fish health and welfare.
Blue Fish Canada’s president, Lawrence Gunther also serves as a member of the great lakes fish health commissions canadian committees of advisors.
