Blue Fish Canada was awarded a $2,500 grant to be used for organizational development. Along with the grant, Blue Fish Canada volunteers were invited to participate in a number of organization development seminars at no cost — five in total.

Lawrence Gunther of Blue Fish Canada provided the 100 members of Musky Canada’s Ottawa Chapter with a 30-minute presentation on the importance of fish stewardship.

While attending a show on environmental safe products, Lawrence Gunther met officials from the City of Ottawa who were distributing clean-up kits. Lawrence followed up with city managers and was able to secure 10,000 kits that the city had surpluses. The kits were the perfect size and design for people who spend time on or next to the water. Each kit is wrapped in a biodegradable wrapper and contains a garbage bag and gloves. The kits fit perfectly into a fishing tackle bag or glove box of a boat or vehicle.

Lawrence Gunther of Blue Fish Canada was invited to present at the Water Stewardship conference in Cornwall Ontario. The 1.5 day conference was organized by the St. Lawrence River Institute on Environmental Science.

Blue Fish Canada was officially incorporated as a Canadian non-profit incorporation, and received charitable tax status.
